Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, was arrested for allegedly pointing an AK-47 at former President Trump while he golfed with plans to assassinate him, according to law enforcement.
Routh, a promoter of left-wing causes, attended North Carolina A&T State University and moved to Hawaii in 2018. He describes himself on LinkedIn as “mechanically minded” and passionate about creative projects.
Routh is also a hardcore supporter and even a recruiter for Ukraine’s armed forces. He has spent the last few years attempting to recruit outside military forces to help Ukraine’s fight against Russia.
Additionally, previous social media posts indicate he has held major destain for Trump, particularly on his notions of ending the Ukraine-Russia war.
Secret Service agents spotted him near Trump’s West Palm Beach golf club, and after firing at him, Routh fled but was arrested on I-95 by local police.
