Former President Donald Trump hosted an online event Monday to promote a new cryptocurrency venture linked to his family — World Liberty Financial.
During the live stream, he praised cryptocurrencies while discussing a second assassination attempt and criticizing the Biden-Harris administration’s border security policies, as well as discussing his new firm.
“If we don’t do it, China is going to do it. China is doing it anyway. But if we don’t do it, we’re not going to be the biggest, and we have to be the biggest and the best,” Trump said in conversation with Farokh Sarmad, a crypto enthusiast and investor.
On the campaign trail, Trump has proposed several pro-crypto positions, including easing federal regulations on digital currencies and establishing a strategic reserve of bitcoin. Earlier this month, he stated his intention to make America the “world capital for crypto and bitcoin.”
