President Trump announced he will posthumously pardon baseball legend Pete Rose, criticizing MLB for barring him from the Hall of Fame over betting on games.

Rose, who died in September at 83, was banned for life in 1989 by Commissioner Bart Giamatti after an investigation. In 1991, the Hall of Fame prohibited players from being eligible. Trump stated that within a few weeks, he would sign a full pardon, acknowledging Rose “shouldn’t have gambled” but only bet on his own team winning.

Trump did not specify the exact charges for Rose’s posthumous pardon. The former Cincinnati Reds star served five months in prison for a faulty tax return in 1990. In 2004, Rose admitted to betting on games but insisted he never bet against his own team.

We want to ask you, the reader: do you approve of Trump’s pardon proposal for Pete Rose? Answer in our poll below and comment your thoughts on Trump’s idea to redeem Rose’s reputation.
