DML and Miss Mary will have an interesting discussion for their news-based Wine & Talk later today, which revolves around married couples and how they vote.
The discussion comes from a recent advertisement pushed by the Harris-Walz campaign. The ad depicts a married couple heading to a polling station together, with the idea that they’re both there to vote for Donald Trump and JD Vance.
While the husband is dedicated to voting for the two Republicans, the wife has other intentions. As she goes to vote at a booth, she exchanges glances with another woman, where they share an unspoken message: let’s secretly vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. The wife then bubbles in the ballot option for the two Democrats and doesn’t tell her husband she secretly changed her vote.
The ad, narrated by leftist actress Julia Roberts, promotes the theme that while it’s tracked whether or not you voted in an election, it’ll always remain secret regarding whom you voted for. (Meaning, one’s husband will never know if you switched your vote.)
See the ad below and then our poll following it:
I can’t imagine not knowing my wife well enough to know exactly how she’d vote.
I can’t imagine my wife not talking to me about any of these controversial topics.
I can’t believe there’s a campaign that encourages women to lie and deceive their husbands. pic.twitter.com/Ibevl098Nu
