From the Washington Examiner: Elon Musk announced that the “America Party,” his proposed third party that will break up what he calls a “uniparty” system in the United States, will be formed following the conclusion of an X poll showing a majority of respondents were in favor of it.
Musk, a onetime Trump adviser who has since trashed his former boss’s massive tax and spending bill that was signed into law on July 4, posted a poll to his X account on Friday asking the public whether such a party should be “created,” the results of which he shared on Saturday.
According to the poll, 65.4% of respondents voted in favor of the “America Party” proposal, while 34.6% voted against it, with just over 1.2 million responses tallied on X.
After the poll had concluded, Musk announced Saturday afternoon, “By a factor of 2 to 1, you want a new political party and you shall have it! When it comes to bankrupting our country with waste & graft, we live in a one-party system, not a democracy. Today, the America Party is formed to give you back your freedom.”

One X user asked, “Elon Musk, please tell us what made you go from loving DJT as much as a straight man can love another to taking swipes towards him and his efforts. There had to be one thing that caused this change. What was it?”
