POINTING FINGERS: Gavin Newsom’s office defiantly tries to blame illegal alien truck driver on Trump, then reminder pops up…

Outrage has erupted after a semi-truck made an unlawful U-turn right in the middle of a Florida turnpike on August 12, blocking the highway and causing a horrifying crash that killed three innocent people.

The driver of the semi-truck has been identified as Harjinder Singh, an illegal alien from India who crossed the border from Mexico into the U.S. in 2018.

Florida officials have now revealed that Singh had a commercial driver’s license, which he had obtained in California.  Fox News explained that a “law passed in 2013 allows California residents to obtain a driver’s license, regardless of their immigration status.”

Fingers are being pointed at the State of California and Gov. Gavin Newsom.  But Newsom’s press office has defiantly tried to blame the crash on the Trump administration instead.

The White House Rapid Response team wrote, “This individual is an illegal immigrant who was granted a commercial driver’s license by the State of California — and now, three innocent people are dead. He has been arrested for vehicular homicide and an ICE detainer has been issued.”

“.@grok who was President in 2018?” the Newsom Press Office snarked, referring to the year Singh snuck across the border into the U.S.

State Department spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin wrote:

3 innocent people were killed in Florida because Gavin Newsom’s California DMV issued an illegal alien a Commercial Driver’s License—this state of governance is asinine.

How many more innocent people have to die before @GavinNewsom stops playing games with the safety of the American public?

We pray for the victims and their families. Secretary Noem and DHS are working around the clock to protect the public and get these criminal illegal aliens out of America.

Newsom’s press office tried again, claiming that the first Trump administration had given Singh a work permit, or they wouldn’t have issued the commercial driver’s license.

“Hey, genius: the federal government (TRUMP ADMIN) already confirmed that this guy meets federal and state immigration requirements — YOU issued him a work permit (EAD). As usual, the Trump Administration is either lying or clueless. p.s. @grok, who was President in 2018?” Newsom’s office wrote.

McLaughlin fired right back, with the RECEIPTS.  She wrote: “False. Harjinder Singh is in the United States illegally and his work authorization was rejected under the Trump Administration on September 14, 2020. It was later approved under the Biden Administration June 9, 2021. The state of California issues Commercial Drivers Licenses. There is no national CDL. Sincerely, Genius.”

Political commentator Anthony Cabassa also posted a reminder that many commercial driver’s licenses in California were issued ILLEGALLY. He shared a Dec. 5, 2019 press release from the Justice Department titled, “Driving School Owner Sentenced to over 3 Years in Prison for Bribing DMV Employees to Issue Commercial Driver’s Licenses to Unqualified Drivers.”

Ironically the person busted in the scam ALSO appears to be Indian. The DOJ report reads:

Jagpal “Paul” Singh, 61; of Los Angeles, was sentenced today to three years and three months in prison for his participation in a scheme to bribe DMV employees to provide California commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs) to unqualified drivers, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott announced.

On March 1, Singh pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bribery, to commit identity fraud, and to commit unauthorized use of a computer, and for identification document fraud. According to court documents, Singh paid bribes to two DMV employees, Lisa Terraciano and Kari Scattaglia, both of whom pleaded guilty. Terraciano was sentenced to three years and four months in prison, and Scattaglia was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison, for, in part, accessing and altering records in the DMV’s database in Sacramento for Singh’s students. Records were altered to show that applicants for CDLs had passed the required tests when, in truth, they had not done so, and in some cases had not even taken the tests. This caused the DMV to issue permits and completed CDLs despite the applicants not having taken or passed those tests.

Newsom’s press office also tried to use the excuse that Gavin Newsom didn’t become governor of California until 2019, which was after Singh entered the country.

However, Newsom served as Lt. Governor of California from 2011 to 2019, and then became governor in 2019.  So he was officially part of the California leadership during that time.

Christina Pushaw, who has served with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, blasted Newsom over the crash.

“Confirmed by @FLHSMV: The driver is Harjinder Singh, an illegal alien who got a license in California. He was arrested for vehicular homicide and will be deported. Gavin Newsom’s deranged policy of issuing licenses to illegals is costing American lives,” Pushaw wrote.

Retired U.S. Navy intel officer Travis Akers wrote, “I was wrong when I previously said CDL holders should not be required to be citizens or speak and read English proficiently. This is exactly why I and many others were wrong. Citizenship and English proficiency should be required to operate vehicles requiring a CDL.”
