PHOTOS: Democrat Senator finally meets with alleged gang member [El Salvador president reacts]

From Fox News: Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., who flew to El Salvador this week to meet with deported illegal alien Kilmar Abrego Garcia before being denied multiple times, was granted his request on Thursday night.

“I said my main goal of this trip was to meet with Kilmar,” Van Hollen said in a post on X. “Tonight I had that chance. I have called his wife, Jennifer, to pass along his message of love. I look forward to providing a full update upon my return.”

Garcia, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant living in Maryland, was deported to the El Salvadoran megaprison “Terrorism Confinement Center” (CECOT) last month, and officials acknowledged in court his deportation was an administrative error, although now some top Trump officials say he was correctly removed and contend he’s a member of the notorious MS-13 gang. Both a federal court and the Supreme Court have ordered the Trump administration to “facilitate” his release and return to the U.S. for proper deportation proceedings.

Van Hollen announced on Tuesday he was going to El Salvador to visit Garcia on Wednesday, and other Democratic lawmakers announced they planned to visit him as well.

“Kilmar Abrego Garcia was illegally abducted and is being held in a notorious prison in El Salvador — barred from contacting his family or lawyers,” Van Hollen claimed in one post on X.

Van Hollen, who was elected as U.S. Senator to serve American citizens in his state, announced in one video post on Wednesday, “I’ve been in El Salvador all day fighting for the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia. The Trump Admin can lie all they want, but the Court said they failed to show he was part of MS-13. This is about bringing home a man they ADMIT should’ve never been abducted. I won’t rest until then.”

Finally, Van Hollen was granted his request to meet with Abrego Garcia, and posted a photo from the meeting on X.

El Salvador President Nayib Bukele then mocked the meeting by sharing additional photos and writing, “Kilmar Abrego Garcia, miraculously risen from the “death camps” & “torture”, now sipping margaritas with Sen. Van Hollen in the tropical paradise of El Salvador!🍹.”

“Now that he’s been confirmed healthy, he gets the honor of staying in El Salvador’s custody 🇺🇸🤝🏼🇸🇻,” Bukele added, indicating the alleged MS-13 gang member is going nowhere.

“They call this CHECKMATE!” joked X user Barry Cunningham.

“I love chess,” Bukele quipped.

Trump assistant Dan Scavino responded with a chess emoji.

The White House posted side-by-side photos. One is of President Donald Trump meeting with angel mom Patty Morin, whose daughter was murdered by an illegal alien from El Salvador.

The other photo is of Van Hollen meeting with alleged MS-13 gang member and deported illegal alien Kilmer Abrego Garcia in El Salvador.

President Trump is fighting for angel parents, while the Democrat senator is openly fighting for a deported illegal alien.

Sen. Van Hollen is geting BLASTED on social media over his post about meeting with Abrego Garcia.  Within the first four hours, the post had gotten over 10.1 million views, and 15,000 comments.

Many are reminding him of the domestic abuse allegations filed against Abrego Garcia by his wife in 2021.

Sen. Ted Cruz mocked, “Find someone who looks at you the way Democrat senators look at illegal alien MS-13 gang members….”

“Do you represent Maryland or MS-13? Lately it’s hard to tell,” asked Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.).

IS THAT MS-13 GANG TATTOOS ON HIS FINGERS?  Democrats have repeatedly insisted that Abrego Garcia is NOT an MS-13 gang member, despite police records from 2019 indicating he IS.

One alert X user noticed the tattoos on his fingers, which appear very, very similar to gang tattoos on another MS-13 gang member’s fingers seen in a photo from 2006.

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD) praised Van Hollen’s stunt, writing, “I’m relieved to see Abrego Garcia is alive, and I’m grateful for Senator @ChrisVanHollen’s leadership and moral clarity. The Supreme Court has spoken unanimously: Abrego Garcia must be brought home. Trump’s disregard for this ruling goes against the Constitution and our ideals.”

Harford County Sheriff Jeff Gahler said in a Fox News interview that he is “1,000%” convinced Abrego Garcia is an MS-13 gang member.

Geiger Capital wrote, “Senator from Maryland is currently in El Salvador dining with an illegal immigrant… Today the Maryland sheriff confirmed he was involved with MS-13 and his wife filed for protection against him due to domestic violence. We are living in a South Park episode.”

Attorney Mike Davis wrote, “Dear @ChrisVanHollen: You flew all the way down to El Salvador to console an MS-13 gang banger and wife beater. But you didn’t lift a finger to help Marylanders who the Supreme Court ruled were persecuted by the Biden Justice Department. Go to hell, you terrorist sympathizer.”

Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.) also voiced her disgust. She wrote, “He can make a spectacle and console an illegal alien who is an MS-13 gang member and domestic abuser. But he couldn’t be bothered to console the family of Rachel Morin, who was viciously raped and murdered by an illegal alien—not even once.”
