A number of faith leaders from across the nation gathered at the White House on Wednesday to meet with President Donald Trump, and to pray with him.
William Wolfe, the executive director of the Center for Baptist Leadership, explained in a video message that the White House Faith Office invited them to come for a “listening session” to talk about policies and priorities that are important to Christians.
He said the White House Faith Office exists to advance policy that matters to Christians, such as protecting girls’ sports, pro-life issues, eradicating anti-Christian bias in the government, and much more.
Wolfe noted that it’s not enough that the left’s anti-Christian agenda has been put on pause, but stressed the importance of Christians getting involved now.
“We had a chance to go around the table and talk about what matters to us,” Wolfe said of their meeting at the White House.
The White House posted a photo of at least 16 faith leaders gathered around President Trump in the Oval Office, and wrote, “The White House Faith Office and Faith Leaders from across the country joined President Trump to pray in the Oval Office. 🙏🇺🇸.”

Wolf stressed how important it is for Christian leaders to work with and help the Trump administration.
“It’s time for the rising conservative populist Christian Right to assume the center. Big Eva and their liberal political project has failed. Any acolytes vying for David French, Russell Moore, or Tim Keller’s crown will be equally irrelevant in the political arena and public square as they were and are,” he wrote.
“I’m going to start largely ignoring these guys now. It’s time for new statesmen and new leaders—prudent ones who can work with the Trump administration to deliver real policy wins for Christians on issues that matter.”
