Outrage has erupted after an illegal alien truck driver caused a horrific crash on a Florida interstate last week that killed 3 people. Harjinder Singh from India snuck across the border into the U.S. in 2018.
After the Biden administration approved his request for a work permit in 2021, he was able to get his commercial driver’s license from both the states of California and Washington – despite that he could not even speak English or understand highway traffic signs.
Now we at the DMLNewsApp have come across a podcast interview with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy from June 27, in which he WARNED that the Biden administration was “letting everyone in, giving them work permits and green cards, then letting them go get CDL’s.”
Duffy was interviewed on FreightWaves WHAT THE TRUCK?!? podcast show, as he discussed issues he was addressing for the trucking industry, and his plans to crack down on ‘non-domiciled’ CDL holders.
In the interview, Duffy stressed the importance of protecting American truck drivers, and revealed that the Biden administration had set up what amounts to a lot of ticking time bombs on America’s highways.
“If you listen to President Trump, it’s America first. I want to put our American truck drivers first, and that means we look at what’s happening with the non-domiciled CDLs,” he said.
“The last administration didn’t give a damn. They were letting everyone in, then giving work permits, green cards, and then letting people come in and go get CDL’s and compete with American drivers,” he warned, adding, “Now we have to look at the data and see how we unwind this.”
In the interview, Duffy ALSO discussed a rule that the Obama and Biden administrations had not been enforcing, which required CDL holders to pass an English language proficiency test.
“The Obama administration made sure that if you violated it, you just got a slap on the wrist,” he said.
Duffy said under his direction, “We’re going to go back to the old standard, where if you’re not proficient in English, we’re going to put your vehicle out of service.”
“If you’re going to drive a big rig, you’re going to speak English,” he declared, adding, “I don’t think the American people even understand that the Obama administration said “we’re not to enforce these rules, and we’re going to allow foreign drivers who can’t speak English on our roads.”
The illegal alien truck driver responsible for the deadly crash in Florida last week fit the profile for BOTH issues Duffy had warned about in the podcast less than two months earlier.

BREAKING: Sec. of Transportation Sean Duffy EXPOSES Scandal! Previous admin handed work permits & CDLs to non-citizens, flooding the market and undercutting American truckers. This was LABOR DUMPING—plain and simple. ATU believes Hundreds of thousands of our workers suffered from this ILLEGAL betrayal.
At American Truckers United, we’re praising God for @SecDuffy and @POTUS, who are stepping up for such a time as this. Eternally grateful! But the fight’s FAR from over. We won’t rest until EVERY American trucker is restored and non-domicile CDLs are BANNED.

Following the deadly crash in Florida, X user RodeoProfessor wrote, “A truck driver who looks exactly like the man in this video almost killed my entire family a month ago on I-90 by doing a quick lane change without looking. I tried looking up his info and reporting him to his employer but all the companies were shells of shells with no contact or outdated paperwork or ghost paperwork. Maybe there’s about 10 total people getting 1% richer by importing foreign truck drivers while the rest of us get rekt.”
Another X user added, “I’ve probably had 5 trucks flagrantly pull out in front of me in the last couple months. Enough where I have to slam on the breaks. One ran a red light that had been red for awhile. In my experience up until recently, truck drivers were good drivers.”
Sec. Duffy responded: “This is exactly why in June I announced a nationwide audit of non-domiciled CDLs! Joe Biden’s reckless immigration policies allowed many unqualified foreign drivers on our roads who have no business operating a 40-ton truck. This is only one of many tragic accidents that should never have happened.
“Our investigators have already uncovered serious red flags in how states are doling out these CDLs. We’ll have more to share in the coming weeks. America First 🇺🇸.”

Duffy also shared a clip from an interview with Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, and wrote, “If you don’t speak English, you cannot operate a 40-ton vehicle safely. And to states that don’t follow the rules — you are on notice! The American people deserve to be safe on the road.”

The Florida crash confirms that Duffy’s previous warnings have been completely accurate. In the DOT press release Tuesday, links were provided on steps Duffy has already taken trying to address concerns surrounding the trucking industry:
- In May, Secretary Duffy signed an order announcing new guidance to enforce English proficiency requirement for truckers.
- In June, Secretary Duffy announced a unveiled a package of new initiatives, pilot programs, and regulatory updates designed to improve the lives of America’s truck drivers.
- In June, Secretary Duffy also announced a nationwide audit into state practices in issuing non-domiciled CDLs.
Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA official, reacted to the case with a chilling statement: “There are over 1M foreign born truck drivers on our roads — with Punjabi Indians a large percentage. This dude is not some wild aberration.”
