From Fox News: President Biden has commuted jail sentences for nearly 1,500 people and granted 39 pardons, marking the largest single-day act of clemency in modern history, the White House announced Thursday morning.
Sentences were commuted for inmates placed on home confinement during the COVID-19 pandemic and who “have successfully reintegrated into their families and communities,” according to the announcement. The 39 individuals pardoned were convicted of non-violent crimes, the White House said.
“The President has issued more sentence commutations at this point in his presidency than any of his recent predecessors at the same point in their first terms,” White House officials said in a statement.
Indicating he’s not finished yet, Biden announced, “I will take more steps in the weeks ahead. My Administration will continue reviewing clemency petitions to advance equal justice under the law, promote public safety, support rehabilitation and reentry, and provide meaningful second chances.”
A social media statement from Biden’s X account reads, “Today, I’m pardoning 39 people with non-violent crimes who have demonstrated remorse and rehabilitation, and I’m commuting the sentences of nearly 1,500 others – many of whom would have received lower sentences today. America was built on second chances. That’s what these pardons and commutations represent.”

Responses are pouring in….
At this rate, Biden is going to release every Democrat criminal currently in jail or being prosecuted.
This is ridiculous.

“But not when it comes to J6rs right? It’s not OK to pardon people who were guilty of trespass and were overcharged by a partisan DOJ hellbent on making an example out of them?
“We’re only supposed to have compassion and forgiveness when it comes to every other crime and every other criminal except J6. That’s how you know this has been political from day one.”
