From the Daily Mail: A Venezuelan man who entered the US illegally shot at three Texas police officers, injuring one cop who was dragged to safety during the shootout by her fellow officers.
Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez, 25, who illegally crossed into Eagle Pass, Texas in November 2023 but was then released by federal authorities, has been identified as the shooter, according to Fox News.
Chacon-Gutierrez was found dead after he opened fire on the three officers who were responding to a domestic violence call at an apartment, the local police chief confirmed.
The female officer who was wounded during the spray of gunfire underwent surgery Sunday morning, and is expected to survive.

Per multiple law enforcement sources, the suspect who shot a San Antonio police officer w/ a rifle this morning is a Venezuelan illegal alien who was caught by Border Patrol in Eagle Pass, TX last November & was released into the US w/ his next court date in April 2026.
Per sources, San Antonio PD officers were responding to a domestic violence call just after 3am. When they made entry, 25-year-old Jorge Chacon-Gutierrez was laying in bed with a rifle, and opened fire on officers. The officers returned fire, then retreated. Chacon-Gutierrez is now dead, unclear if from return fire or suicide.
Per sources, the SAPD officer was shot multiple times, had surgery this morning, and she is expected to survive. Iβve reached out to ICE for formal comment. More to come when I get it.
