From Fox News: Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., who is a top contender to be Vice President Harris’ running mate in the 2024 election, posted a cryptic message on social media amid veepstakes speculation.
“Whether it was from my time in the Navy and at NASA, serving in the United States Senate, or visiting our troops overseas: I’ve learned that when your country asks you to serve, you always answer the call,” Kelly posted on X on Sunday.
Harris met with potential vice presidential candidate picks on Sunday as the presumptive Democrat presidential nominee is believed to be a day or two away from making a final decision on a running mate.
Among those on the list are Govs. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania and Tim Walz of Minnesota, as well as Kelly. Also in contention, according to sources, are Govs. Andy Beshear of Kentucky and JB Pritzker of Illinois, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
Kelly first posted, and then deleted, a statement that said, “My background is a bit different than most politicians. I spent my life serving in the Navy and at NASA, where the mission always comes first. Now my mission is serving Arizonians.”
The post seemed to imply that he has NOT been chosen as Harris’ running mate.
Sen. Mark Kelly has deleted this tweet in which he said his mission now is “serving Arizonans.”

Then, while speculation was swirling over the first tweet, Kelly posted another that said, “Whether it was from my time in the Navy and at NASA, serving in the United States Senate, or visiting our troops overseas: I’ve learned that when your country asks you to serve, you always answer the call.”

Kelly’s Democrat followers are elated and giddy over the post, but Republicans are hitting back with reminders of his record.
“You mean like this?” asked Steve Guest, throwing up the story about Kelly starting a spy balloon company funded by the Chinese.

“What about selling out your country to China with Spy Balloons? Did you answer that call too?” another suggested.

“Remember those suspicious ppe loans you got pushed through, or owning a Chinese spy balloon company, or riding a motorcycle on stage with Chinese flags on it? Those are just a few reasons to say no on Kelly,” warned Veterans for Kari.

“Then why when your Arizona constituents asked you to Vote to close the Border and against Bidenomics you chose to do the opposite? You failed to protect and Defend the United States!” declared Melinda Hamilton.
