1 – Trump dwarfs Biden in latest fundraising numbers in huge show of political force

From the Associated Press: Donald Trump’s campaign outraised President Joe Biden by more than $60 million last month, according to federal filings that detailed the Republican fundraising explosion sparked by Trump’s felony convictions.

Biden’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee together raised a robust $85 million in May and reported $212 million in the bank at the end of the month. The strong showing does not include roughly $40 million raised by Biden and his top surrogates in recent days — or a separate $20 million donation from former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to pro-Biden groups.

Still, Trump’s fundraising for, for one month at least, seemed to dwarf Biden’s, according to the filings made public Thursday.

The Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee said it raised a jaw-dropping $141 million in May, including tens of millions donated immediately after Trump was convicted of 34 felonies in the New York hush money case. At the same time, billionaire Timothy Mellon donated a stunning $50 million to a pro-Trump super PAC the day after Trump’s guilty verdict, according to the filings.

2 – Judge to weigh removing Jack Smith in Trump classified documents case

From Fox News: The judge presiding over former President Trump’s classified records case is holding a hearing Friday to consider whether the appointment of U.S. Special Counsel Jack Smith and the funding of his investigations is “unlawful.”

Judge Aileen Cannon of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida had postponed the trial stemming from Smith’s investigation into Trump’s alleged improper retention of classified records indefinitely.

Upon postponing the trial, Cannon scheduled deadlines for reports on June 10 and 17 and a nonevidentiary hearing on a motion to dismiss on Friday, “based on unlawful appointment and funding of special counsel.”

Garland appointed Smith as special counsel on Nov. 18, 2022 – just days after Trump announced he would run for president in 2024.

3 – Trump calls mother of woman murdered by an illegal alien

From the New York Post: Former President Donald Trump called the mother of Rachel Morin, who was ruthlessly raped and murdered by an illegal migrant from El Salvador, on Thursday — with the grieving mom saying she was “deeply touched” by his “honest compassion.”

The condolences from the presumptive GOP nominee came after Patty Morin slammed President Biden’s Department of Homeland Security chief for referring to her daughter as an “individual” killed by a suspected gang member. Trump talked at length with Patty about Rachel, a 37-year-old mother-of-five who was senselessly slaughtered last August while on a hiking trail in Harford County, Md.

“I am deeply touched by President Trump’s kindness and concern,” Patty said in a statement about the call. “He was genuine and truly wanted to know how our family was coping,” she added. “He asked about Rachel and showed honest compassion for her untimely death. “His words brought comfort to me during this very difficult time.”

Trump also released a statement about the case on social media:

From Fox News reporter Bill Melugin:

In a statement to @FoxNews, ICE confirms the Salvadoran illegal alien charged with the rape and murder of Rachel Morin entered the U.S. as a gotaway “on or around February 13th, 2023” near El Paso, TX. Prior to that, he was caught by Border Patrol three separate times in a matter of days, and was expelled to Mexico via Title 42 each time.

Once on 1/19/23 when he tried to cross near Santa Teresa, NM.

A second time on 1/31/23 near El Paso, TX.

A third time on 2/6/23 near Santa Teresa, NM again.

Then, on his fourth try about a week later, he was able to slip into the U.S. near El Paso without apprehension.

4 – Two illegal aliens charged with abducting, strangling Texas girl, 12, and dumping her body

From the NY Post: Police in Houston have arrested two migrants from Venezuela for the murder of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was lured away from home, then strangled and dumped in a bayou.

One of the suspects crossed the border illegally less than a month before the shocking murder, and was released into the US after claiming he feared for his life if he was sent back to his home country, sources told The Post. Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, were charged Thursday with capital murder.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sources said Pena Ramos crossed into El Paso, Texas, on May 28. He was released soon after his interaction with border agents. Agents put a GPS tracker on Pena Ramos, which was only set to monitor his location for 21 days, sources said.

The second suspect, Rangel Martinez, crossed the border at El Pas on March 14 and was released with a court date in August, sources said. He also had a GPS monitor, but was removed from the program in May, according to the sources.

Headlines since weekend:

  • Salvadoran illegal alien charged w/ rape & murder of Rachel Morin. Entered as gotaway last year.
  • Ecuadorian illegal alien charged w/ rape & kidnapping of 13-year-old girl in NYC. Caught & released in 2021.
  • Two Venezuelan illegal aliens charged w/ murdering 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston. Both caught and released at the border this year.

5 – John Kennedy Asks Biden Judicial Nominee About Her Decision To Cut Jail Sentence In Half For Man Who Molested Kids

From the Daily Caller: Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana asked a Biden judicial nominee during a Thursday hearing about her 2023 decision to slash the jail sentence in half for a man who “molested” two young girls.

President Joe Biden nominated Maine Superior Court Judge Julia Lipez to fill a vacancy on the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on May 23. Kennedy questioned Lipez about the March 2023 sentencing of Michael Smith during the confirmation hearing held by the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“Judge Lipez, you, um, you have more sympathy for the criminal than the victim, don’t you?” Kennedy asked, before questioning her about Smith

6 – BOOM! James O’Keefe exposes Disney’s DEI hiring practices

Investigator James O’Keefe strikes again. He just released a new undercover video Thursday, with a senior vice president of the Walt Disney Company.   O’Keefe writes:

BREAKING: Senior Vice President at The Walt Disney Company details discriminatory hiring practices: “Nobody else is going to tell you this, but they’re not considering any white males for the job,” says Michael Giordano, a Vice President of Business affairs, “there’s no way we’re hiring a white male.” Giordano reveals Disney uses “code words and buzzwords” to avoid legal action and even mentions a candidate being rejected for not looking black enough. Giordano also admits Disney gives bonuses to executives for practicing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), agreeing that “diversity helps with financial incentives.” Giordano further claims he’s been denied promotions due to his race.

7 – Biden burns billions to connect no one to the internet

From the Washington Examiner: President Joe Biden has made it a habit during his administration to spend billions upon billions of dollars without anyone seeing a worthwhile benefit, and people are starting to notice.

In November 2021, Congress passed the $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which included $42.5 billion to increase access to high-speed internet in rural areas. Two years and seven months later, zero homes have seen the benefits of this money, and the projects will not even hit their start dates until 2025 or 2026 (at the earliest).

“There hasn’t been a single shovel’s worth of dirt that has even been turned toward connecting people,” according to Federal Communications Commissioner Brendan Carr.

Project implementation was reportedly hampered by regulations requiring providers to prioritize “certain segments of the workforce, such as individuals with past criminal records” and to account for climate related risks both now and in the coming decades.

8 – National Anthem Singer At Pirates Game Changes Lyrics, Sparks Debate About Political Agenda

From Outkick: The Pittsburgh Pirates invited a local political activist known as Man-E to sing the national anthem ahead of their game against the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday and he may have taken the opportunity to push his political beliefs on everyone in attendance by changing the lyrics to the “Star Spangled Banner.”

Instead of singing “and the rockets red glare,” he sang “and the rockets blue glare.”

Simple mistake, or purposeful edit? We don’t know for sure since Man-E doesn’t seem to have said anything publicly since his pre-game performance. But the circumstantial evidence supports the idea that he was sending a message.

His girlfriend is local Democrat councilwoman Bethany Hallam, who brags about being formerly incarcerated in her X bio. She shared the video on social media.

9 – FBI busts alleged mastermind behind massive network of hijacked devices

From Fox News: An international law enforcement operation led by the Department of Justice (DOJ) has disrupted a botnet known as 911 S5, which exploited free VPNs to facilitate various cybercrimes, including fraud, harassment and child exploitation.

YunHe Wang, 35, a citizen of China as well as St. Kitts and Nevis, was arrested on May 24 for allegedly creating and running this whole botnet scheme. The feds say he used malware to infect millions of personal Windows computers around the world, building a network with more than 19 million unique IP addresses.

Wang allegedly created a system that allowed cybercriminals to mask their identities and commit crimes. He did that by creating and disseminating a botnet called 911 S5 to compromise and amass a network of millions of residential Windows computers worldwide from 2014 through July 2022, according to the DOJ. These devices were associated with more than 19 million unique IP addresses, including 613,841 IP addresses located in the U.S.

10 – REVEALED: The diet that can help you live to 100, according to study of 5,000 elderly people

From the Daily Mail: Americans are often told to cut down on steak consumption to avoid heart disease and diabetes. Meanwhile, tens of thousands are still turning to veganism in the hope that it will help them live healthier and better lives.

But now a growing number of studies seem to reach the same consensus. Despite the anti-meat scare stories, eating meat makes you more likely to live longer. Specifically, you might have a better chance of living to 100.

The most recent paper that spoke to this conclusion studied the diets of 5,200 people — including 1,500 centenarians — from across China. It found that those eating a more diverse weekly diet, including meat, were 23 percent more likely to become centenarians than their peers who ate one that was more restrictive.

It adds to other recent evidence, including one 2022 Australian paper on meat consumption and life expectancy by country, that found life expectancy is higher in nations that, on average, consume more meat.
