Melania Trump will skip the traditional White House meeting with Jill Biden on Wednesday.
She cited a scheduling conflict in promoting her new memoir, Melania, which recently became a New York Times bestseller. Anonymous sources told CNN that she will not accompany President-elect Trump to Washington for the day.
Another source suggested Melania’s expected absence is due to lingering resentment over the FBI’s 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago, during which agents searched her wardrobe. The raid was part of a classified documents investigation later dropped in July.
An unnamed source told the New York Post, “She ain’t going,” claiming Melania doesn’t need to meet Jill Biden, whom they blamed for authorizing the FBI’s search of her belongings. Another source told the Daily Mail that “Mrs. Trump is not going,” adding Melania and Jill Biden haven’t spoken. CNN reported that Trump’s team tried to persuade Melania, though her decision wasn’t final.

President Joe Biden invited Trump to the Oval Office to facilitate a smooth transition between their administrations, and Trump accepted. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday at 11 a.m., following Trump’s recent victory over Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
