After a five-day stay at the home of billionaire Democratic donor Joe Kiani in Santa Ynez, California, President Joe Biden headed to his Rehoboth beach house in Delaware for another three days, raising questions about who is running the country.
Kiani, CEO of Masimo, is a close friend of Biden and a major Democratic donor, having contributed $1 million to the Biden Foundation, $750,000 to a pro-Biden super PAC, and $1 million to the Biden Inaugural Committee.
Republicans on the House Oversight and Reform Committee have expressed concerns about potential conflicts of interest, noting that Kiani’s company has received nearly $3 million in federal contracts since January 2021, including from the Department of Defense, Health and Human Services, and Veterans Affairs.
On August 10, the Republican National Committee posted on X, “Biden — who held just one public event this week — is currently lounging on the beach in Delaware. He has spent 40% of his entire presidency on vacation. Who is running the country?”
