From the New York Post: Election officials have confirmed widespread problems with voting machines and software on Election Day in two heavily Republican counties in the critical swing state of Pennsylvania.

Officials said there were issues with scanning ballots in Cambria and Bedford counties, which former President Donald Trump won four years ago with 68% and 83% of the vote, respectively.

“The Cambria County Board of Election learned early this morning that a software malfunction in the County’s Electronic Voting System has prevented voters from scanning their ballots,” Cambria County Solicitor Ron Repak said in a statement.

“This should not discourage voters from voting at their voting precincts. The Board has filed a Court Order extending the time to vote within Cambria County.”

Election officials filed emergency paperwork with the county court, seeking to extend the voting time to 10 p.m., two hours past the 8 p.m. deadline, to make sure all ballots are counted.

CAMBRIA COUNTY, PA:

Republican senate candidate Dave McCormick later announced, “CAMBRIA COUNTY: Because of some initial issues with the ballots in Cambria County, the hours to vote have been extended to 10pm. If you’re in Cambria County (or anywhere with long lines), please be patient, stay in line and cast your vote by any means available at your polling place. Make sure your voice is heard!”

Republican activist Scott Presler wrote Tuesday morning, “To everyone in Cambria County, we are aware. You stay in line like your lives depend on winning. Don’t move a muscle. 📍Cambria County, PA.”

RNC Chair Michael Whatley also announced Tuesday morning, “PENNSYLVANIA ELECTION INTEGRITY: Early this morning we learned that Republican poll watchers in Philadelphia, York, Westmoreland, Allegheny, Lehigh, Cambria, Wyoming, and Lackawanna Counties were being turned away. We deployed our roving attorneys, engaged with local officials, and can now report that all Republican poll watchers have been let into the building. We will keep fighting, keep winning, and keep sharing updates.”

BEDFORD COUNTY, PA: A voter posted a video Tuesday morning announcing the voting machines were not working.  Later it was confirmed the machines are back in operation.

X user Aimee Lynn announced, “I’m in Cambria County (next to Bedford County) and our machines were down at my location and several others across the county. They gave us two options, we could vote and put it in the lock box or come back. They didn’t know when it would be up, if at all.”

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA: One Pennsylvania voter, Brandon, a lawyer and former cop, shared some concerning news.  In a series of X posts, he wrote:

Standing in line at my polling place. Poll worker just came out and announced that Allegheny County didn’t send the necessary paperwork for one of the 2 districts at this polling location and one of the necessary officials hasn’t shown up yet. They’re separating the 2 districts and allowing 1 district to vote.

This is unacceptable.

They’re encouraging people to use provisional ballots if they don’t want to wait. The shenanigans have begun…

We’re now being told the County didn’t send the poll book and they can’t start voting until they have it.

Just been informed the elections judge for our district didn’t show up. Poll workers have called the county 6 times since 6:15 a.m. and have yet to receive a callback.

Judge finally showed up 40 minutes late. More to come on him later…

I was finally able to cast my ballot, but at least a half dozen other voters had to leave before they could vote — and that’s a big problem. If even one of the people who left decide not to come back later (or can’t come back for some reason), this one irresponsible elections judge will have caused irreparable harm to the electoral process. If polls are open from 7A-8P, no one should be denied the right to vote during those hours.
