From Fox News: The Trump administration recently pulled Jared Isaacman’s nomination to be NASA administrator, alluding that he was not in “complete alignment” with the president’s agenda.
“The Administrator of NASA will help lead humanity into space and execute President [Donald] Trump’s bold mission of planting the American flag on the planet Mars,” White House Assistant Press Secretary Liz Huston told Fox News Digital on Saturday.
Huston added it is “essential” that the next leader of NASA “is in complete alignment” with President Trump’s “America First” agenda.
A replacement will be announced directly by Trump “soon,” according to the White House.
The nomination was reportedly withdrawn after the Trump administration learned Isaacman had made donations to Senate Democrats in the past.
President Trump announced in a Truth Social post Saturday night, “After a thorough review of prior associations, I am hereby withdrawing the nomination of Jared Isaacman to head NASA. I will soon announce a new Nominee who will be Mission aligned, and put America First in Space. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
Isaacman graciously released the following statement after his nomination was pulled:
I am incredibly grateful to President Trump @POTUS, the Senate and all those who supported me throughout this journey. The past six months have been enlightening and, honestly, a bit thrilling. I have gained a much deeper appreciation for the complexities of government and the weight our political leaders carry.
It may not always be obvious through the discourse and turbulence, but there are many competent, dedicated people who love this country and care deeply about the mission. That was on full display during my hearing, where leaders on both sides of the aisle made clear they’re willing to fight for the world’s most accomplished space agency.
The President, NASA and the American people deserve the very best–an Administrator ready to reorganize, rebuild and rally the best and brightest minds to deliver the world-changing headlines NASA was built to create.
I have not flown my last mission—whatever form that may ultimately take–but I remain incredibly optimistic that humanity’s greatest spacefaring days lie ahead. I’ll always be grateful for this opportunity and cheering on our President and NASA as they lead us on the greatest adventure in human history🇺🇸

Meanwhile, journalist Laura Loomer had warned earlier on Saturday that “deep state operatives” were trying to derail Isaacman’s nomination. She wrote:
EXCLUSIVE: Deep State operatives are trying to derail President Trump’s NASA Administrator pick @rookisaacman Jared Isaacman before his Senate confirmation vote this week.
A well-placed source tells me Jared Isaacman’s nomination to be the next Administrator of @NASA was set for a final Senate confirmation vote early next week, but DC insiders are now trying to convince the @WhiteHouse to pull the plug on Isaacman before his confirmation vote.
The final decision to pull Isaacman’s nomination could come as soon as Monday.
There is reason to believe that Isaacman may be facing retaliation because of his friendship with @elonmusk. If so, this would suggest there is a coordinated hit job on Isaacman in an effort to damage ties between President Trump and Elon Musk before the 2026 midterms, even though the two of them just held an Oval Office meeting and press conference yesterday where @POTUS praised Elon for for his generosity, his work at @DOGE, and even gave Elon a key to the White House.
Is President Trump aware of the ulterior motives by some individuals in the administration who have an interest in seeing Isaacman’s nomination pulled?
Let me remind you who Jared Isaacman is. Yes, he has been a liberal in the past like @elonmusk, but as it relates to MERIT and his knowledge of Space, his credentials are unmatched.
Here’s what Isaacman has accomplished at 42 years old.
✅ Built a multibillion-dollar company named Shift4 from scratch at age 16
✅ Flew around the world in 62 hours (a world record) to raise money for Make-A-Wish
✅ Co-founded the largest private military jet fleet in the world
✅ Commanded Inspiration4, the first all-civilian space mission
✅ Led the first private spacewalk with Polaris Dawn in 2024
✅ Raised hundreds of millions of dollars for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and child cancer research
And— he gave $2 million to President Trump’s inauguration and probably would have given millions more to GOP causes like @elonmusk did.
Isaacman was on track to get over 70 Senate votes. So why the sudden reversal and talks to pull his nomination? Because the Deep State doesn’t want President Trump to have allies like this in his administration.
This is concerning. @realDonaldTrump @JDVance

I just got off the phone with a powerful Republican Senator who is 100% MAGA. The Senator tells me Loomer’s reporting is true, and everyone is stunned by this.
“Isaacman would pass with +70 votes. He’s a spectacular nominee. This is completely out of the blue.”
Very strange… https://t.co/PB15FR9vxM
