NEWS ALERT: Tulsi Gabbard’s fears on Syria coming true as reports say jihadis murdering Christians

In early December, Islamist rebel leader Ahmed Hussein al-Sharaa, also known as Abu Mohammad al-Julani, led the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) to overthrow dictator Bashar Assad’s regime and take over as president of Syria.

Syrians danced in the streets when Assad fled the country.  At the time, some warned that Syrian Christians may end up much worse off under the Islamist rebel leadership, and now that appears to be proving true.

From Fox News: Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s warning of a terrorist takeover in Syria looks to be coming true amid reports that al Qaeda-linked terror forces aligned with Syria’s interim new president—a former al Qaeda terrorist—are being accused of massacring Alawites as well as members of the country’s dwindling Christian community.

Syrian security forces and affiliated gunmen have killed more than 340 civilians, the vast majority of them from the Alawite minority, over the last two days, Rami Abdulrahman of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights told Reuters on Saturday.

At Gabbard’s Senate confirmation hearing she said “I have no love for Assad or any dictator. I just hate al-Qaeda. I hate that our leaders cozy up to Islamist extremists, calling them “rebels”, as Jake Sullivan said to Hillary Clinton, “al Qaeda is on our side in Syria.” Syria is now controlled by al-Qaeda offshoot HTS, led by an Islamist Jihadist who danced in the streets on 9/11, and who was responsible for the killing of many American soldiers.”

An Alawite woman from the region of Al-Ghab plain, where there is a majority Alawite population, told Fox News Digital that the forces said, “Alawites are pigs, and they have to execute all of them and the small children before the elderly people.”

The report states that the prominent Alawite 86-year-old cleric Shaaban Mansour and his son Hussein Shaaban were both killed by Islamist forces on Friday, in the village of Sahlab in western Syria.

Many Christians have reportedly been slain. The Islamist militias “are entering houses and killing people and stealing everything. They are covering their faces,” one witness claimed.

From Reuters: More than 1,000 people have been killed in two days of clashes between gunmen and security forces linked to Syria’s new Islamist rulers and fighters from Bashar al-Assad’s Alawite sect in the country’s coastal region, a war monitor said on Saturday.

The casualties included 745 civilians, 125 members of the Syrian security forces and 148 fighters loyal to Assad, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The revenge killings that started Friday by Sunni Muslim gunmen loyal to the government against members of Assad’s minority Alawite sect are a major blow to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, the faction that led the overthrow of the former government. Alawites made up a large part of Assad’s support base for decades.

Residents of Alawite villages and towns spoke to The Associated Press about killings during which gunmen shot Alawites, the majority of them men, in the streets or at the gates of their homes. Many homes of Alawites were looted and then set on fire in different areas, two residents of Syria’s coastal region told the AP from their hideouts.

Residents of Baniyas, one of the towns worst hit by the violence, said bodies were strewn on the streets or left unburied in homes and on the roofs of buildings, and nobody was able to collect them. One resident said that the gunmen prevented residents for hours from removing the bodies of five of their neighbors killed Friday at close range.

Footage posted on social media is too horrific to include in this report.

A video posted on X shows a man speaking in English, begging for help, as he says they are “killing everyone” and he doesn’t know how to hide his mother and two sisters.

Conservative host Tucker Carlson posted the following comment Saturday:

As predictable as this is, it’s still infuriating to see it. For decades, Bashar al-Assad protected minority religious communities in Syria, including the country’s large Christian population. No one in the United States was allowed to notice this, and anyone who did was immediately denounced by neocons as a dangerous extremist.

Bari Weiss declared Tulsi Gabbard “monstrous” and an “Assad toady” for noticing. But it was true. Assad protected the Christians. The weaker Assad was, the more Christians died. During the years that neocons in the west backed the war against Assad, the percentage of Christians in Syria went from ten percent to two percent.

Now that Assad has been driven from power, many of the remaining Syrian Christians are being slaughtered and their holy places desecrated. Bari Weiss and John Bolton haven’t said a word about it. But no one who’s paying attention can be surprised it’s happening. Neocon projects in the Middle East invariably destroy ancient Christian communities, from Iraq to Gaza and in many places in between. Can this be an accident? You wonder.
