In mid-August, a hopeful administration team met with Russian President Vladimir Putin with the aim of achieving a ceasefire deal between Moscow and Kyiv amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Weeks later, NATO allies had to militarily respond to the region after an apparent Russian attack that went through Poland. FOX NEWS notes that Russia’s move brought Poland “the closest it has been to open conflict since World War II.”

Now, Trump has sent a message to Russia that denotes a feeling of confidence and resolve: “Here we go.”

On August 15, 2025, Trump and Putin met for a summit in Anchorage, Alaska. The meeting did not yield any concrete results, but reports indicated that Putin laid out his terms for a peace deal, including that Kyiv cede all of the Donetsk region to Russia in exchange for a ceasefire.

He also demanded to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Moscow to come to terms.

Ukrainian officials have said Russia cannot dictate political control in the region and refused to meet in Moscow, citing safety concerns.

In the meantime, Russia continues to blast Ukraine with drone and missile attacks. Then on Wednesday, Russia is accused of firing off at least two dozen drones into Polish airspace.

Russia’s taunt has also prompted Trump to issue a warning on social media.

“What’s with Russia violating Poland’s airspace with drones?” Trump asked on Truth Social. “Here we go!”

Russia has denied that the attack came from them.

FOX NEWS REPORTS:

The Kremlin on Wednesday claimed there is “no evidence” that the drones were of “Russian origin” after Andrei Ordash, Moscow’s chief diplomat in Poland who was summoned by Warsaw, told Russian state-owned media outlet RIA, “We see the accusations as groundless.”

“We know one thing – these drones were flying from the direction of Ukraine,” he added, according to a translation by a DW report.

Ordash’s comments contradicted assessments by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who said that “at least two Russian drones that entered Polish territory during the night used Belarusian airspace.

“In total, at least several dozen Russian drones were moving along the Ukraine-Belarus border and in the western regions of Ukraine, approaching targets in Ukraine and, apparently, Poland,” he added.
