President Donald Trump announced in a Truth Social post Monday afternoon that he has issued a full and unconditional pardon for a Virginia sheriff who had been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Scott Howard Jenkins, 53, the former sheriff of Culpeper Couty, Virginia, was accused of accepting over $75,000 in bribes in exchange for appointing numerous Northern Virginia businessmen as auxiliary deputy sheriffs within his department. He was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison on March 21.
In April, NBC Washington reported that Jenkins intended to appeal the sentence, and said, “I truly believe if I could get an hour of time with someone in the administration and lay out some facts with my attorney and I really believe if they could hear the other side which I couldn’t get in front of the jury – I believe whole heartedly in the president. I believe if he heard the information, I know he would help if he knew my story.”
Evidently, President Trump did find out about Jenkins’ case, including the evidence he had not been allowed to present at the trial.
Below is Trump’s statement, announcing his pardon for Jenkins:
Sheriff Scott Jenkins, his wife Patricia, and their family have been dragged through HELL by a Corrupt and Weaponized Biden DOJ. In fact, during his trial, when Sheriff Jenkins tried to offer exculpatory evidence to support himself, the Biden Judge, Robert Ballou, refused to allow it, shut him down, and then went on a tirade.
As we have seen, in Federal, City, and State Courts, Radical Left or Liberal Judges allow into evidence what they feel like, not what is mandated under the Constitution and Rules of Evidence.
This Sheriff is a victim of an overzealous Biden Department of Justice, and doesn’t deserve to spend a single day in jail. He is a wonderful person, who was persecuted by the Radical Left “monsters,” and “left for dead.”
This is why I, as President of the United States, see fit to end his unfair sentence, and grant Sheriff Jenkins a FULL and Unconditional Pardon. He will NOT be going to jail tomorrow, but instead will have a wonderful and productive life.

John Guandolo, a U.S. Marine combat veteran and former FBI agent wrote in March, “Scott Jenkins, the former Sheriff of Culpeper County VA, was the most recognizable Patriot sheriff in America standing up to the VA Governor & others bringing tyranny on the citizens. That’s why he was targeted. Jenkins was convicted in December of taking campaign contributions in exchange for auxiliary deputy positions. A sheriff can lawfully deputize anyone for whatever reason he chooses. Will @realDonaldTrump step in & pardon a sheriff who stood by him?”

In April, ‘Blue Lives Matter’ alleged the whole thing was a ‘set up’ against the sheriff.
Former Culpeper County, Virginia Sheriff Scott Jenkins was set up in an alleged “pay to play” scheme involving auxiliary deputy sheriff appointments in exchange for money. Our investigation found that was not necessarily the case.
