Speculation has been swirling about who President-elect Donald Trump may select for FBI director, as it is expected he will replace current director Chris Wray.

After it was made known that Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.) had met with the Trump transition team at Mar-a-Lago, concerns arose that he was being considered to lead the FBI.   Now a longtime Trump advisor has just squashed those rumors.

Rogers, who is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, is a former FBI agent, and is what many conservatives consider a member of the “deep state” and a “swamp rat.”

The alarm bells have been sounded and red flags waved on social media, including a resurfaced video showing Rogers confirming his support for FISA wiretapping.

Another video montage shows Rogers repeatedly trashing Trump in the past.

Podcaster Dan Bongino had also loudly protested the idea of Rogers being appointed to the position.

Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe recently voiced his support for Rogers as FBI director, which only increased the backlash from the MAGA world.

Friday morning, Trump’s longtime aide and advisor, Dan Bonginio, put all the rumors to rest, as he confirmed it’s NOT HAPPENING.

“Just spoke to President Trump regarding Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It’s not happening — In his own words, “I have never even given it a thought.” Not happening,” Scavino confirmed.

It’s still unknown who Trump will nominate as FBI director, but it will NOT be Rep. Mike Rogers.
