Democrats are in a tailspin over this one, and are pushing out a flurry of misinformation about a pause on funding that President Donald Trump just ordered for woke and radical programs.

From The Guardian: Donald Trump’s second presidential administration has ordered a pause in all grants and loans disbursed by the federal government, potentially upending programs relied upon by millions of Americans.

In a two-page internal memo, Matthew Vaeth, Trump’s acting head of the office of management and budget (OMB), instructed all federal agencies to “temporarily pause all activities related to obligations or disbursement of all federal financial assistance”.

Vaeth said that the pause does not include social security or Medicare – and that the assistance put on hold “does not include assistance provided directly to individuals”.

CLICK HERE to read the actual memorandum released by the Trump administration. The memo states that the spending pause goes into effect Tuesday at 5:00 pm ET.

The memo calls for each agency to “complete a comprehensive analysis of all of their Federal financial assistance programs to identify programs, projects and activities that may be implicated by any of the President’s executive orders.

The memo also note that this applies to executive orders including, but not limited to, financial assistance for foreign aid, nongovernment organizations, DEI, woke gender ideology, and the green new deal.

However, the Guardian, a far-left news outlet, alleged that “the order is likely to affect universities, the non-profit sector, cancer research, food assistance, suicide hotlines, hospitals, community health centers, non-profits that help disabled veterans and many more.”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt responded to questions about the order during her first White House press briefing on Tuesday, and debunked the wild claims.

“This is not a blanket pause on federal assistance and grant programs from the Trump Administration. Individual assistance that includes…Social Security benefits, Medicare benefits, food stamps, welfare benefits, assistance that is going directly to individuals will not be impacted by this pause,” she emphasized.

Leavitt said this pause means “no more funding for illegal DEI programs. It means no more funding for the ‘Green New Scam’ that has already cost American taxpayers tens of billions of dollars.”

“It means no more funding for transgenderism and wokeness across our federal bureaucracy and agencies. No more funding for Green New Deal social engineering policies,” she added.

People who are receiving individual assistance will continue to receive that, she clarified.

Leavitt said this is a temporary pause while the OMB reviews all the funds that are going out the door, and noted that during the past four years, the Biden administration has been spending money “like drunken sailors.”

She noted that there is also a hiring freeze and a freeze on foreign aide.

Then Leavitt dropped a couple bombshells, saying that during this pause, DOGE and the OMB just discovered there was a whopping $37 million about to go the door to the World Health Organization.

DOGE and OMB also discovered that $50 million was about to go out the door to fund condoms in Gaza.

“That is a preposterous waste of taxpayer money!” she declared.

Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schmer is going on a wild tirade against the pause in wasteful spending, claiming it will affect programs Americans need and rely on.

“American families should make no mistake. With Trump’s decision to halt virtually all federal grants and loans: The money being taken from them will be spent, just not on them. Instead of going to your support your community, it’s going to the ultra-wealthy,” Schumer falsely claimed in one post on X.

During a press conference Tuesday morning, Schumer joined Democrat senators Amy Klobuchar, Patty Murray, Jeff Merkley and Andy Kim, and wildly pushed out false claims about the funding freeze.

“Last night President Trump plunged the country into chaos. Without a shred of warning the Trump Administration announced a halt to virtually all federal funds across the country. In an instant, Donald Trump has shut off billions… perhaps trillions of dollars, that directly supports states, cities, towns, schools, hospitals, small businesses, and American families…this is a dagger at the heart of average American family in red states, in blue states, in cities and suburbs and rural areas,” he raged.

Without any proof, he claimed the order will cut disaster assistance, local law enforcement, rural hospitals, aid to the elderly, food for people in need.

“All are on the chopping block in this new administration. Why? They need tax cuts for the ultra wealthy, and these cuts, they think, will fund it,” he falsely claimed.

“Every one of our offices have been deluged with calls from people who are in panic,” he said, adding, “This decision is lawless, dangerous, destructive, cruel. It’s illegal. It’s unconstitutional… plain and simple, this is Project 2025 by another name.”

Pushing out his fake list, Schumer wrote on X:

Hospitals.
Police.
Firefighters.
Senior centers.
Food pantries.
Nonprofits that help disabled veterans.
Mass transit.
On and on and on.

Virtually any organization, and there are millions, that depends on federal grant money to run its day-to-day operations is now in danger because of Donald Trump’s cruel order.

In another post on X, Schumer claimed, “Senators’ phones have been ringing off the hook with nonstop calls from hospitals, police departments, volunteer firefighters, food pantries, drug treatment centers, on and on and on.

“Americans are in panic mode trying to figure out how Trump’s lawless, destructive, cruel order to halt virtually all federal assistance affects them. If a Senator is going to say they’re getting no calls, then they’re just out of touch because it affects almost everything. If Trump doesn’t rescind it, Congress must act,” he ranted.
