Here’s an extremely alarming report from Katy, Texas (a suburb of Houston) that has been kept ‘under the radar.’ Houston has a growing Muslim population, estimated to be around 200,000 people as of early 2025 – up from 63,000 in 2012. There are also reportedly over 200 mosques and Islamic religious centers in the Houston area.
From local news outlet CoveringKaty.com: The Waller County Sheriff’s Office revealed Wednesday afternoon the identities of three suspects who have been arrested and charged following a Sunday shooting at a youth baseball tournament at The Rac baseball complex in Katy.
Ahmed Mawed, 21; Mustafa Mohammad Matalgah, 27; and Mahmood Abdelsalam Rababah, 23, have all been charged with deadly conduct by discharging a firearm. As of late Wednesday, Matalgah and Rababah were being held in the Waller County Jail, each with a $100,000 bond. It was not immediately clear whether Mawed posted bail.
If convicted, the punishment is two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
CoveringKaty reported that the shooters were on a neighboring property about 600 yards away, and were firing in the direction of the youth baseball fields.
ABC News quoted Corbin Geisendorff, the assistant coach for the Texas Colts, as saying, “There was bullets flying everywhere. It wasn’t one shot. There’s bullets flying everywhere, off the poles, onto the field. It’s just unbelievable.”
A 27-year-old coach was shot in the shoulder and was airlifted to a nearby hospital. He has since been released.
According to ABC13 Eyewitness News, the coaches said they actually heard shots on Saturday during the first day of their tournament, but they said it sounded further away.
The incident has been brushed off by the media, who says they men were just “target practicing” in their pasture and the coach was struck by a “stray bullet.”
Sunday, just as one team was taking the field, bullets suddenly started raining down. Terrifying video shows the children and most coaches running for their lives.
