NEWS ALERT: Supreme Court rules on Biden-Harris request to allow biological men in women’s locker rooms

From Fox News: The Supreme Court voted 5-4 Friday to reject a Biden administration emergency request to enforce portions of a new rule that includes protections from discrimination for transgender students under Title IX.

The request would have permitted biological men in women’s bathrooms, locker rooms and dorms in 10 states where there are state-level and local-level rules in place to prevent it.

The sweeping rule was issued in April and clarified that Title IX’s ban on “sex” discrimination in schools covers discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation and “pregnancy or related conditions.”

The rule took effect Aug. 1, and, for the first time, the law stated that discrimination based on sex includes conduct related to a person’s gender identity.

Fighting back against the rule, over two dozen Republican attorneys general joined together to file a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration, arguing that the rule would force them to allow biological men to play in women’s sports – even though some states have laws against that.

In a 5-4 ruling, the Supreme Court dealt a fatal blow to the Biden-Harris rule. In a strange twist, Justice Neil Gorsuch, a conservative, sided with the 3 liberal justices on the court.

Conservatives are voicing their relief that the rule was struck down, but many are noting it should have been 9-0.

Former college swimmer Riley Gaines, who has led the charge against men in women’s sports, write, “BREAKING: In a 5-4 decision, SCOTUS has struck down the Biden-Harris administration’s rewrite of Title IX, which would have allowed men in women’s sports, bathrooms, locker rooms, dorms, and compelled speech. HUGE win. Onward!”

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey wrote, “Thank you for your fight, @Riley_Gaines_. Missouri backs you all the way.”

Chaya Raichik, better known as Libs of TikTok, wrote, “BREAKING: Supreme Court just ruled against Biden admin request to implement their changes to Title IX which would allow men to completely invade women’s spaces. HUGE WIN FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS! 🔥.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) responded, “Great victory for girls and women!! I still can’t believe this is even an issue!”

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngking wrote to Gaines, “Grateful for leaders like you and @JasonMiyaresVA who are on the front lines fighting for common sense every day! Huge win!”

Caitlyn Jenner (formerly Olympic champion Bruce Jenner) wrote, “The SCOTUS just overturned the Title IX rewrite allowing biological boys into girls sports. This is great news for girls and women’s sports all across the nation!”
