From Breitbart: Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) is pushing amnesty for millions of illegal aliens in the United States in response to President Donald Trump’s newly announced self-deportation program.

On Monday, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the launch of a program that will provide illegal aliens with a $1,000 stipend after they have proven to federal officials that they self-deported from the United States using the CBP Home mobile app.

Similar self-deportation programs, Breitbart News reported, have been adopted by European countries such as Germany, Denmark, and Sweden with much success in cutting illegal immigration.

In response, Gallego suggested he opposed self-deportations and instead offered an amnesty plan that would keep eligible illegal aliens on renewable work visas indefinitely — flooding the American labor market with millions of newly legalized foreign workers.

Gallego was just elected to the U.S. Senate in November, defeating Republican Kari Lake for the coveted senate seat.  And now he’s brazenly pushing for amnesty.

“Why don’t we make them pay a $5k fine, go through a background check and give them a work visa for a few years, renewable with good behavior, Gallego suggested, in response to a report by the Associated Press.

One appalled X user responded, “Let me get this straight: you’re telling people who are following the legal path to citizenship that you want illegal immigrants to pay $5,000 to skip the line—even though they broke the law. Got it.”

“Work visa is not citizenship,” Gallego argued.

“So, what about American workers? You know the people you’re supposed to represent?” another person demanded.

Gallego responded to multiple comments about his proposal on X, continuing to defend the scheme.

When one person suggested the $5 “fine” might be too high, Gallego wrote, “I live in a Latino neighborhood, my family are immigrants. 5k is not that much to them. You tell them 5k gets them security to stay in this county they will work extra jobs to pay it.”

Kari Lake, who had warned during the senate race that Gallego wanted open borders, blasted his amnesty proposal.

“Instead of rewarding people who subvert our LEGAL immigration system, we should teach them that if they break the law to get into the country, they forfeit the privilege to stay. But @RubenGallego doesn’t want deterrence. He wants amnesty,” Lake wrote.

Retired ICE Field Office Director John Fabbricatore blasted the proposal, writing, “No. Absolutely not. No Amnesty. The Democrats want the numbers (illegal population) for the census and redistricting. They also want new voters. We cannot allow that. I don’t even like giving them $1000 of taxpayer money to leave, but I’ll acquiesce if it works.”
