From News Nation: Cartels have authorized the use of weaponized drone explosives against border agents and other U.S. law enforcement at the southern border as violent threats are escalating on social media, with some promising the use of deadly force against Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is taking the threats seriously enough to circulate two memos among agents and officers within the agency. Copies of the memos were obtained by NewsNation.

One of the communications references three different social media posts that included threats.

One post encourages people to assassinate ICE police, while a TikTok video tells immigrants illegally in the U.S. to spit and urinate on ICE agents’ food and defecate in their vehicles. Another post calls for the murder of local ICE agents.

A second memo warns that cartels have authorized the use of drone explosives against CBP personnel and U.S. law enforcement officers.

The New York Post shared excerpts from the internal memo, which warns Border Patrol agents about the potential deadly attacks by the cartel.

“On February 1, 2025, the El Paso Sector Intelligence and Operations Center (EPT-IOC) received information advising that Mexican cartel leaders have authorized the deployment of drones equipped with explosives to be used against US Border Patrol agents and US military personal currently working along the border with Mexico,” the CBP warning reads.

“It is recommended that all US Border Patrol agents and DoD personnel working along the border report any sighting of drones to their respective leadership staff and the EPT-IOC,” the memo also states.

The memo instructs federal agents working the border to “carry proper equipment” at all times, including first aid kids, tourniquets and body armor, and says rifles “should be readily available.”

News Nation correspondent Ali Bradley announced the chilling news on Friday.
