NEWS ALERT: Hundreds of children – some as young as 10 – are set to be jabbed with puberty blockers in NHS-backed experiment

From the Daily Mail: Hundreds of children are set to be jabbed with puberty blockers in the first NHS-backed experiment of its kind.

The controversial clinical study will see as many as 226 children as young as ten-years-old who believe they are transgender take part.

They will be injected with the drugs to examine whether they could safely be used in future to help young people change their bodies and become more like the gender they self-identify as, rather than their gender at birth.

Researchers dismissed accusations that the trial could amount to ‘coercing’ children into taking the drugs, which potentially damage fertility, bone density and brain development.

They insisted it would be safe because they have planned the ‘most rigorous and safest study design’ which will involve ‘close monitoring’ of any potential side-effects and risks.

The shocking trial, will be funded by NHS England and is backed by King’s College London and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, the Daily Mail wrote. The program will typically be for children as young as ten to 11-years-old for girls and 11 to 12 for boys. The maximum age will be 15 years and eleven months.

A previous publication last year by the Cass Review, had concluded that the quality of studies claiming puberty blockers have beneficial effects was ‘poor’, and puberty blockers have since been banned by NHS.

Outrage has erupted at the news of the new trial planned for young children. The Daily Mail offered more details:

One group of 113 will be given puberty blockers for two years, while the other half will be given the drugs after a one-year delay.

Both groups will be followed up for two years, meaning it will be four years before any results are published.

Children who take part will need the permission of their parent or guardian and an official diagnosis, according to World Health Organization standards, that they’re suffering from ‘gender incongruence’.

Chief investigator Emily Simonoff, professor of child and adolescent psychiatry at KCL’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), admitted, “At the end of the trial, each young person will be reviewed individually and clinically to look at their ongoing care needs, which may include remaining on puberty suppressing hormones, if that’s deemed clinically appropriate for them.”

Maya Forstater, CEO of sex-based rights charity Sex Matters, voiced her outrage while speaking to GB News, saying, “I think it’s atrocious, it shouldn’t go ahead.”

“These drugs are a major intervention, with no evidence to suggest that they do any good and increasing reason to think they cause permanent harm. It’s both foolish and unethical to expose yet more children to experimental treatment,” Forstater declared.

Sex Matters announced efforts to get the trial stopped.

Sex Matters has written to @wesstreeting about the puberty blockers trial. We urge him to take steps to stop the trial which will:
– cause foreseeable harm to a new cohort of vulnerable children
– provide less information about the long-term impacts of puberty blockers on previous patients, at greater cost and with more delay, when compared with the data-linkages study
– be directed at a goal that is incompatible with the law as clarified by the Supreme Court.

British politician Kemi Badenoch, a conservative, wrote, “No child is born in the wrong body. I cannot believe we are back to square one, with NHS England backing an experimental trial of puberty blockers on healthy, vulnerable children, ignoring the damage already done.

“The No1 rule of medicine is “do no harm”.This is activist ideology masquerading as research. I’m urging MPs of all parties to sign this letter from me and Shadow Health Secretary @stuartandrew, calling for Wes Streeting to step in and stop this trial before more damage is done to children who are too young to understand what they are doing to themselves,” Badenoch added.

Elon Musk seized on the report, and flatly declared, “This is evil and cannot be allowed to proceed.”

Investigative journalist Gerald Posner repolied, “I exposed the dangers of puberty blockers in the Wall Street Journal more than 2 years ago. And still doctors in “gender affirming” care are continuing the greatest medical scandal since lobotomies.”
