From People: A shooter or shooters opened fire on a Tennessee pastor’s house late Tuesday night, firing dozens of bullets into the residence while one of the pastor’s children was home, according to police.
The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office tells PEOPLE it is investigating the Tuesday night shooting and that “approximately 30-40” shell casings were recovered at the home of pastor Greg Locke in Mt. Juliet, Tenn.
Officers responded to the home around 10:30 p.m. local time, Cpt. Scott Moore of the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office says.
The sheriff’s office spokesperson says there were “multiple shots that had penetrated the house, garage, and a vehicle.”
Locke, a staunch conservative, is the pastor of Global Vision Bible Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. He has been the target of leftists multiple times, including being banned from Twitter for speaking against Covid vaccines during the pandemic, and being slammed for encouraging people to burn inappropriate books.
In a Facebook post early Wednesday morning, Locke shared chilling details of the latest attack:
It’s 2:00am and for the last 3 hours our home has been a full blown crime scene. According to the security cam footage, we pulled into our driveway exactly ONE MINUTE after a madman unloaded an entire magazine of bullets from an automatic weapon into our house, garage and my truck.
The sound on the video is truly horrific. Detectives will still be here for a good while tonight. Only one of our kids was home and thank God not in the same area of the house. As you can see in the last pics, one of the bullets cut through the headboard of our youngest daughter’s bed and lodged in her pillow.
We are all being security escorted to a hotel tonight. We have no further details. The only detail that matters is that Psalm 91 is true and GOD PROTECTED US IN UNIMAGINABLE AND SUPERNATURAL WAYS. Please pray for the Locke family tonight. We love all of you.
In March, on Easter Sunday, someone dropped off a trailer loaded with Bibles in the middle of the intersection in front of the church, then set it on fire.
