Kennedy to face confirmation hearings on Wednesday and Thursday
From CBS NewsRobert F. Kennedy Jr., President Trump’s controversial pick to head the federal Department of Health and Human Services, will appear Wednesday before a Senate panel that is crucial to advance his nomination.

Kennedy is due to appear first at the Senate Committee on Finance, the panel that will ultimately be the committee with the deciding vote on whether his nomination to be the next Secretary of Health and Human Services advances to the full Senate. He must receive a majority of senators to be confirmed to head HHS, which encompasses America’s federal health agencies.

The committee’s jurisdiction largely focuses on the department’s mammoth Medicare and Medicaid health insurance programs for seniors and low-income Americans, which make up the largest share of mandatory spending in the federal budget.

He will head next to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, or HELP, which is scheduled to question Kennedy on Thursday.

Conservative podcaster Jillian Michaels shared the following list of 7 Senators who may be on the fence and need to be encouraged to vote in support of Kennedy, to get his nomination confirmed:

This is the most important request I have ever made:

Bobby Kennedy awakened the conscience of Americans about the need to reverse childhood chronic disease. IT IS IMPERATIVE the 7 Senators below are reminded of the importance of getting him confirmed. These calls MATTER. The phones need to be ringing off the hook. 🙏

RFK Jr’s Democrat cousin, Caroline Kennedy, launches attack in scathing letter ahead of confirmation hearing
From the New York Post: The daughter of former President John F. Kennedy is speaking out against Health and Human Services Secretary designate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., lambasting her cousin as a “predator” with “dangerous” views on vaccination who is “unqualified to fill” the role.

Former US Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy strongly urged senators in a video message posted on X to reject President Trump’s nominee, the day before the first of two high-stakes Senate hearings.

“He lacks any relevant government, financial, management or medical experience. His views on vaccines are dangerous and willfully misinformed,” Kennedy said, reading her missive to members of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, who will quiz RFK Jr. on Thursday. “These facts alone should be disqualifying, but he has personal qualities related to this job, which for me pose even greater concern.”

Caroline’s son, Jack Schlossberg, then released a video of his mother condemning RFK Jr’s nomination as she read her letter.

Trump nominated Kennedy to serve as HHS Secretary on November 14. Trump’s statement reads:

I am thrilled to announce Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as The United States Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). For too long, Americans have been crushed by the industrial food complex and drug companies who have engaged in deception, misinformation, and disinformation when it comes to Public Health.

The Safety and Health of all Americans is the most important role of any Administration, and HHS will play a big role in helping ensure that everybody will be protected from harmful chemicals, pollutants, pesticides, pharmaceutical products, and food additives that have contributed to the overwhelming Health Crisis in this Country.

Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!

Kennedy posted the following response to President Trump’s nomination in November:

Thank you @realDonaldTrump for your leadership and courage. I’m committed to advancing your vision to Make America Healthy Again. We have a generational opportunity to bring together the greatest minds in science, medicine, industry, and government to put an end to the chronic disease epidemic.

I look forward to working with the more than 80,000 employees at HHS to free the agencies from the smothering cloud of corporate capture so they can pursue their mission to make Americans once again the healthiest people on Earth.

Together we will clean up corruption, stop the revolving door between industry and government, and return our health agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science. I will provide Americans with transparency and access to all the data so they can make informed choices for themselves and their families.

My commitment to the American people is to be an honest public servant. Let’s go!
