In the wake of an Islamic terror attack in New Orleans, Louisiana Wednesday morning, the FBI in Houston, Texas has announced they are conducting an investigation there.
The man who drove the white pickup truck into a crowd of New Years revelers on Bourbon Street after 3:00 a.m., killing at least 10 people and injuring 35 others, has been identified as Shamsud Din Jabbar, 42, a US citizen born and raised in Texas. He also reportedly spent 10 years in the U.S. Army, and was living in Houston, Texas.
Jabbar was killed in a shootout with police after his truck came to a stop. An ISIS flag was attached to a flag pole at the back of the pickup.
The FBI now appears to have descended on his residence in Houston. A statement just posted on social media reads:
FBI Houston and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are currently conducting law enforcement activity near the intersection of Hugh Road and Crescent Peak Drive in north Houston.
We have secure a perimeter in that area and are asking people to avoid the area. FBI Houston personnel and specialized teams will be on-site for several hours.
This activity is related to this morning’s new Orleans attack, but due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, no further information can be provided.

New York Post reporter Jennie Taer noted it sure took the FBI a long time to get there.
“The FBI didn’t show up to the NOLA suspect’s address until 1pm today. We were on scene before. No one came out of the home or answered the door,” Taer wrote.
