A fast-growing Muslim community in the Dallas, Texas area released a video this week announcing that they are literally building their own Islamic city from scratch, and plots are selling out fast.

The video was posted by Dr. Yasir Qadhi, a Pakistani American Muslim scholar and theologian, who is dean of The Islamic Seminary of America and resident scholar of the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC) in Plano, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.

EPIC reportedly started “with small gatherings in several garages” in 2003, and got their non-profit status the same year. As the group grew, they moved into larger facilities, and finally built their own 33,000 square foot mosque in 2015, with capacity for 3,200 people.   It is just one of many mosques in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In the newly-released video, Qadhi announced, “We are constructing an entire city half an hour from downtown Dallas.”  He said it will be a city of over 1,000 people.  The website was launched last year, and the entire Phase 1 area of EPIC CITY was sold out within days.

Now they are opening up EPIC RANCHES 1 and 2, due to the high demand.  EPIC Ranch 1 has plots available from 1 acre to 5 acres.  EPIC Ranch 2 has plots that are 1/2 acre, and also opportunities to build condominiums. The project is being built in the northeast area of Dallas.

“This is an amazing time to invest for the future, not only for yourselves, but in your children after you,” he touted, while declaring that they are going to “demonstrate to the entire world what it means to be a Muslim living in the West.”

The video concludes with Islamic music and images of the lots available.

In the original post on X, Qadhi noted that this opportunity is also available to non-Americans.  He wrote:

Announcing the launch of EPIC Ranches, a housing opportunity open to anyone who wants a home next to EPIC City (open to non-Americans as well).

This ambitious project is like no other: we are building an entire community from scratch! Islamic Schools, college, masjid, retirement home for elderly (including assisted living), clinics, retails shops, and more….all within walking distance, surrounded by a loving, safe community in a neighborhood of friends and family!

Limited plots available. For further info, log on to http://TheEpicRanches.com

Qadhi has deleted his post with the original video, but it has been copied and shared by other concerned X users:

Podcast host Dennis Michael Lynch re-posted the 2-minute video Friday night.

In case there is any question about whether the community intends to embrace American traditions… below is a post by Qadhi on November 28, as he condemned Americans for celebrating Thanksgiving.

One day after the presidential election, Qadhi called President Trump “a convicted felon – a narcissistic bombastic egotistical self-obsessed lying corrupt bankrupt tycoon widely despised by many.”

In another post on X in August, Qadhi stressed that women should wear a hijab. He wrote:

In a world that often glorifies the loud and the bold, women who wear the hijab are a testament to the power of modesty—strong, unwavering, and deeply rooted in faith.

There is immense strength in choosing to conceal one’s beauty for the sake of piety: a power that defies the fleeting trends of the world. The hijab today is a gentle yet powerful reminder that true strength lies in modesty, and in the quiet confidence of those who know their worth comes by pleasing the Creator instead of the creation.

In a July 2024 post, Qadhi touted Shari’ah Law.

In another post in June 2024, Qadhi pushed out an argument on why the Hamas massacre in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023 shouldn’t be condemned.

In December 2023, Qadhi pushed out a call for his followers to join the “March for Gaza” in front of the White House in Washington, D.C.
