From Fox Business: Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s government efficiency team has been temporarily blocked from accessing certain government systems, according to a federal judge’s ruling on Saturday.
U.S. District Judge Paul Engelmayer issued the ruling after a group of attorneys general sued Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) on Friday, arguing that the presidential commission does not have the right to access U.S. Department of Treasury systems.
The Friday lawsuit, which was filed by 19 Democratic attorneys general, claimed Musk’s team violated the law by being given “full access” to the Treasury’s payment systems. The systems include information about Americans’ Social Security, Medicare and veterans’ benefits, tax refund information and more.
The lawsuit was filed in New York by the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who wrote that President Donald Trump “does not have the power to give away Americans’ private information to anyone he chooses, and he cannot cut federal payments approved by Congress.”
Joining New York in the lawsuit to stop Musk from digging into wasteful government spending were Democrat attorneys general from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont and Wisconsins.
NY AG Letitia James announced on Friday, “We’re suing over the free rein Donald Trump gave Elon Musk and DOGE to access Americans’ private information. Musk and DOGE want to use this information to cut vital services that Americans rely on — from health care to education. This is unacceptable and illegal.”
“Today, I am leading 18 attorneys general in suing to stop this attack. President Trump doesn’t have the power to give your private information to anyone he wants. And his unelected billionaire friend can’t cut federal spending with the click of a button,” she sneered.
James claimed that Musk and “his so-called Department of Government Efficiency have accessed the personal private information of tens of millions of Americans, and sensitive data about public and private entities, social security numbers, addresses, tax returns and more.”

Saturday morning, James cheered, “This morning, we won a court order blocking Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, from accessing Americans’ private data. Musk and his DOGE employees must destroy all records they’ve obtained. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: no one is above the law.”

Musk responded in fury, writing, “This ruling is absolutely insane! How on Earth are we supposed to stop fraud and waste of taxpayer money without looking at how money is spent? That’s literally impossible! Something super shady is going to protect scammers.”

New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin also gloated, “Thanks to our lawsuit, the world’s richest man has been stopped from stealing your data. DOGE’s unrestricted access to Treasury systems is incredibly dangerous, and this emergency order halting their access proves it. I’ll never stop fighting to protect our residents.”
“To be clear: the Judge ordered Elon and the DOGE bros to delete any data they illegally acquired since Trump took office. We are going to make sure they comply. Billionaires don’t get to write their own rules,” Platkin continued.

Rep. Daniel Goldman (D-NY) then chimed in, writing, “It wasn’t just a freeze on @elonmusk and @DOGE accessing Americans’ personal data. He was ordered to DESTROY any data they already took. Elon must confirm he has followed the court order.”
Musk fired back, telling Goldman, “We don’t have any personal data of Americans, you corrupt moron.”

Now calls are growing to impeach the corrupt judges.
Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) declared, “This has the feel of a coup—not a military coup, but a judicial one.”

Radio host Glenn Beck weighed in, writing, “Let me see if I have this right. The Treasury Secretary CANNOT access any data from the treasury? Wow. Who is afraid the secrets are coming out. This judge was not elected nor was he given the mandate by the people. Enough is enough. WE THE PEOPLE demand transparency. IT IS OUR MONEY, NOT YOURS.”
