From ABC3340 News: The Colorado Department of State confirmed in a news release Tuesday a file that included passwords for voting systems was erroneously posted on its website.
“The Colorado Department of State is aware that a spreadsheet located on the Department’s website improperly included a hidden tab including partial passwords to certain components of Colorado voting systems,” the news release reads.
The Colorado Republican Party said in an earlier statement it received an affidavit accusing Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold of sharing a file on her official website that had more than 600 passwords for the voting systems in all but one county.
That file was a Microsoft Excel list of the voting systems that had a hidden spreadsheet containing their passwords, according to the party. Chairman David Williams called the discovery “shocking.”
Griswold, a Democrat, has claimed that the ‘mistake’ of the leaked passwords was made by a “civil servant” in the Secretary of State’s Office, who is no longer employed there.
“A civil servant accidentally made this error. Out of an abundance of caution, we have people in the field working to reset passwords and review access logs for affected counties. The employee responsible for the hidden tabs on the spreadsheet no longer works with the department and we are doing everything that we can to, of course, assure the public and work with the counties. And, again, this is out of an abundance of caution. We do not believe there is a security threat to Colorado’s elections,” Griswold announced.

Libs of TikTok pointed out, “In 2021, Jena Griswold called a password leak a “serious breach of voting system security protocols” and a “violation of Election Rule.” She just covered up her own voting system password leak and only acknowledged it and took action once she was called out for it. She needs to be held accountable!”
