It’s beginning to look like war at the U.S.-Mexico border, as the cartel gang members have started firing on both American citizens and U.S. Border Patrol agents.
This comes as the Trump administration has cracked on illegal immigration, sending military troops to help secure the border, and ICE is rounding up illegal alien criminals and deporting them. The cartels are quickly seeing their money flow drying up, and are brazenly becoming more aggressive and violent.
Last week a group of US citizens out hiking in the Jacumba Wilderness in California was confronted by two armed cartel members who began yelling at them, and then started firing their weapons at the hikers, hitting one person in the leg.
On Monday, suspected cartel members inside Mexico fired on Border Patrol agents working at the Texas border.
Fox New reporter Bill Melugin announced on social media:
BREAKING: Per multiple law enforcement sources, within the last hour, Border Patrol agents near Fronton, TX were fired upon from MX by suspected cartel gunmen as a group of illegal aliens were being brought across the river. I’m told BP returned fire, nobody hit on either side, and that the illegal aliens did not make it across.

Sources say the suspected cartel members were attempting to push a group across the river, none of them made it across.
This as agents tell me the cartel has been firing shots from the Mexico side for years, however the cartel has been operating in unprecedented ways since President Trump was elected—Even giving orders to shoot at agents recently.

Journalist Collin Rugg shared a video from a few years ago, to give more insight about the area where the attack occurred.
