From the New York Post: Radical Israel-bashing “Squad” Rep. Rashida Tlaib is doing a text blast to raise funds for a super PAC backing Zohran Mamdani for mayor — but not everyone is pleased with the solicitation.
Tlaib’s pitch recently showed up on the mobile phones of prospective donors courtesy of the pro-Mamdani group New Yorkers for Lower Costs.
Mamdani, as with the Michigan congresswoman, is an ardent foe of Israel and supports the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement against the Jewish state.
“Zohran, who’s led hunger strikes for a cease-fire [in Gaza] and workers’ rights, isn’t raising any more money for his campaign under New York City’s public financing system,” Tlaib said in the solicitation.
The Mamdani campaign has already hit the maximum fundraising cap under the system after raising thousands of small donations that qualified it for the 8 to 1 in public matching funds.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Zohran Mamdani, 33, was born in Uganda to parents of Indian heritage. The family reportedly moved to Cape Town, South Africa when he was 5 years old, then moved to New York City when he was 7 years old. He only became an American citizen in 2018.
Mamdani has been a New York State lawmaker since January 2021. He is a member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, and ran on the issues of statewide rent control, fare-free transit, ending mass incarceration, and single-payer healthcare in New York. He is also a member of the Muslim Democratic Club of New York, and one of three Muslim lawmakers in the New York State Legislature.
Now Mamdani wants to be mayor of New York City. His platform includes support for a rent freeze, free buses, and city-owned grocery stores in New York City. He also wants to create free, universal childcare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years old, as well as increasing the wages for childcare workers, and give parents free diapers and other baby supplies.
Mamdani also wants to dismantle “mass incarceration” in New York, eliminate the New York prison system, and allow felons to vote.
The Democrat Socialist muslim also wants to raise the minimum wage in New York to $30 per hour by 2030…. and eliminate bus fares in the city.
Mamdani is currently polling in second place in the New York City mayor’s race, behind Andrew Cuomo.
He held a rally Sunday evening, and it was no small event, with a packed crowd of around 2,000 people all cheering for socialism.
