From NY Post: Anti-Israel New York City Councilwoman Tiffany Caban was among those arrested as scores of screaming protesters descended on the Manhattan offices of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand on Friday, sources told The Post.
Caban joined pro-Palestinian activists from Jewish Voices for Peace to occupy the Midtown office building, wearing T-shirts with “Let Gaza live” emblazoned across them.
Several protesters could be seen being zip-tied and led away as cops forced them out of the building, footage shot by Fox News showed.
Banging pots and pans, the protesters stormed the building demanding Schumer and Gillibrand do more to beef up aid to Gaza.
Jay Saper, a spokesperson for the group, said they are calling for relief and aid.
“We are calling on them to let aid in, to stop the bombing and allow aid into the Palestinian people of Gaza right now,” Saper said. “This starvation crisis in Gaza is at a tipping point, and so we have to raise our voices.”
