Another migrant truck driver caused another fatal crash last week, killing three people in Roanoke County, Virginia.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Monday, December 22, when a semi truck driven by 58-year-old El Hadji Karamoko Quattara ran off the right side of the road and hit a Honda Odyssey stopped on the shoulder.
There were six people in the Odyssey. Killed in the crash were 65-year-old driver Lorraine Renee Williams, 49-year-old Ebony Latasha Williams and 2-year-old Shazziyah Lesley. The other 3 people in the Odyssey van – a 63-year-old man, a 10-year-old girl and another man in his early 70’s – were all taken to the hospital, according to WDBJ7.com.
Quattara was reportedly charged with reckless driving, and may face additional charges once the investigation concludes.
Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported, “I’m told by a federal law enforcement source that this man is a naturalized U.S. citizen from the Ivory Coast who, at one point, had been in the U.S. illegally in the 90s, but was eventually able to get a green card and adjust his status to become a naturalized U.S. citizen.”
Despite the he has been in the U.S. since the 90s, Quattara reportedly doesn’t speak any English.
