Billionaire and former Trump advisor Elon Musk is doubling down on his proposal to create a new political party.

This comes as Musk has split with President Donald Trump, primarily over his vehement opposition to the “Big Beautiful Bill” which Trump supported and will be signing into law today.

Friday morning, Musk posted a poll on X and wrote, “Independence Day is the perfect time to ask if you want independence from the two-party (some would say uniparty) system! Should we create the America Party?”

As of 4:30 p.m. ET, the poll results are 63.5% yes and 36.5% no.

Musk added:

One way to execute on this would be to laser-focus on just 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts.

Given the razor-thin legislative margins, that would be enough to serve as the deciding vote on contentious laws, ensuring that they serve the true will of the people.

“Important to vote in this poll,” Musk later urged.

“🇺🇸🇺🇸 Happy birthday, America! 🇺🇸🇺🇸,” Musk also posted Friday.
