Proverbs 11:18
A wicked person earns deceptive wages,
but the one who sows righteousness reaps a sure reward.
[From the New International Version]
This verse contrasts the outcomes of wicked versus righteous behavior. It suggests that those who engage in deceitful or dishonest practices may gain temporary gains, but these are ultimately unreliable.
In comparison, those who act justly and righteously will receive a guaranteed, positive reward. It emphasizes the certainty of rewards for virtuous actions compared to the uncertain and ultimately empty gains of wickedness.
