Proverbs 29:25

Fear of man will prove to be a snare,
but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

[New International Version]

This verse warns that fearing human pressures can be a dangerous trap, leading to anxiety or poor decision-making. It contrasts this by offering trust in the Lord as a source of pure safety under God’s protection and peace.

It implies that seeking approval from people can ensnare individuals in insecurity, whereas trusting in God offers a secure foundation. Believers should prioritize their faith over fear of opposition from others.

Ultimately, the verse calls for confidence in God’s guidance rather than being swayed by the opinions or actions of antagonistic people.
