Galatians 6:14

May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

[From the New International Version]

This verse, found in Galatians 6:14, emphasizes the importance of humility and devotion to Jesus Christ. It begins with a powerful statement about boasting.

Paul, the author, declares that he will never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. This means he takes pride only in what Jesus has done, not in his own achievements.

Through the cross, Paul explains, the world has been crucified to him. This signifies a separation from worldly values and desires.

Similarly, he states that he has been crucified to the world. This indicates that his identity and purpose are now rooted in Christ, not in worldly recognition.

In essence, Galatians 6:14 teaches us to find our worth and pride in Jesus’ sacrifice, focusing on our spiritual connection rather than worldly accomplishments.
