Romans 6:13
Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
[From the New International Version]
This verse, found in Romans 6:13, advises against using any part of ourselves for sinful purposes. Instead, it encourages us to dedicate ourselves to God.
The verse begins by warning us not to offer any part of our bodies to sin. This means avoiding actions and behaviors that lead to wrongdoing and moral decay.
Instead, we are called to offer ourselves to God. This is a reminder that, as believers, we have been brought from death to life through Christ. Our new life should be dedicated to serving God.
Furthermore, we are instructed to offer every part of ourselves to Him. This means using our talents, actions, and even thoughts as instruments of righteousness.
In summary, Romans 6:13 encourages us to reject sin and fully dedicate our lives to God, living in a way that reflects His righteousness.
