Ecclesiastes 7:14
When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this:
God has made the one as well as the other.
Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.
[From the New International Version]
This verse teaches us that life is a mixture of good and bad times, both of which come from God. It encourages us to enjoy and appreciate those moments when things are going well.
However, in contrast, when life is difficult, we are urged to reflect and understand that these challenges also have a purpose in the bigger picture.
The verse reminds us that we cannot predict or control the future because it is ultimately in God’s hands, and thus, we must trust in God’s plan.
