Proverbs 21:26
All day long he craves for more,
but the righteous give without sparing.
[New International Version]
This verse contrasts the attitudes of the selfish and the righteous.
The first part describes a greedy person who is never satisfied, constantly craving more, and living in a state of perpetual want. In contrast, the righteous are characterized by generosity, giving freely and abundantly without hesitation.
It highlights the spiritual fulfillment that comes from generosity compared to the emptiness of selfish desires. The verse underscores the idea that true contentment and virtue lie in sharing with others rather than hoarding for oneself.
