Luke 14:28

Suppose one of you wants to build a tower.
Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?

[New International Version]

This verse highlights the importance of careful planning and preparation before undertaking significant tasks.

It uses the example of building a tower to illustrate the need to assess resources and determine whether one can complete what one started. It teaches that failure to plan can lead to unfinished work or wasted effort.

Spiritually, it reminds us to consider the cost of following Jesus and understanding the commitment and sacrifices involved. The verse encourages wisdom, forethought, and a realistic evaluation of one’s abilities and circumstances in any endeavor.
