Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask from the Lord,
this only do I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze on the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
[New International Version]
This verse expresses the desire for a deep, continuous relationship with God.
The “house of the Lord” symbolizes God’s presence, indicating an eternal yearning for communion with the divine. The psalmist seeks to “gaze on the beauty of the Lord,” reflecting awe, worship, and the pursuit of God’s character and glory.
“Seeking Him in His temple” suggests both an act of devotion and a place where God’s guidance and peace can be experienced. The verse highlights a heart entirely focused on worship, adoration, and an abiding connection with God as life’s ultimate goal.
