God, Our Refuge in Every Season
“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
Psalm 46:1 (NIV)
Spring is unfolding around us. New buds are pushing through cold soil. Longer days bring light earlier each morning. Yet even in this season of renewal, life can feel unsteady.
Perhaps you’re carrying worries about what lies ahead, decisions that weigh heavy, or simply the quiet ache of waiting for something to change.
The psalmist reminds us that God is not seasonal. He doesn’t appear only when life feels bright and blooming. He is ever-present—a steady refuge when storms arrive unexpectedly, and a source of strength when our own reserves run low.
Like a mighty oak whose roots go deep, holding firm through wind and rain, God offers security and strength. He is not the absence of trouble, but His unchanging presence is right in the middle of it, steady and unyielding.
Today, remember that you are not facing anything alone. The One who calms seas and raises the sun each morning is near. He is your refuge, your strength, and your ever-present help.
Lord, thank You for being my safe place today. When life feels uncertain, help me run to You instead of relying only on my own understanding. Surround me with Your strength and fill my heart with the peace that comes from knowing You are already here. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
