James 1:5-8 (KJV)

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Two simple thoughts from this scripture…

1) There’s no better source to go to for wisdom than directly to our Heavenly Father. Yes, we learn from others, and and we value the wisdom we receive from other godly people, but the true source of all wisdom is God, and He wants us to ask Him for wisdom and guidance.

2) God doesn’t want us to waver and wobble. He doesn’t want us to be lukewarm or unstable or tossed about by ungodly opinions and influences.

“Dear Heavenly Father, I’m thankful that the wisdom You give is always sure, solid and secure. Help me to come to You daily for wisdom and discernment, and to do so with a faith that cannot be moved or shaken. Even when I don’t understand the answer, even when I cannot see the outcome, even when my prayers aren’t always answered as I expect, help me to be strong and unmoveable in my faith, knowing all things work together for good to those who love You. In Jesus’ name I plead. Amen.”
