Isaiah 26:3-4
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
4 Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength:
True and lasting peace isn’t the absence of conflict around us… it’s the quiet confidence within us that others can’t take away.
When our minds are only focused on what’s around us, we won’t ever feel real peace. But when our hearts and minds are fixed on the Lord, He will give us perfect peace.
Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Peace is a gift from God to those who put their complete trust in Him. It will help us endure experiences we never could have faced in our own strength. And when we have peace in our own hearts, this also helps us to be a peacemaker to others.
“Dear Heavenly Father, I’m thankful for the peace you’ve given me… although it’s beyond my understanding, I know it is Your work, an assurance that Your presence is with me, and will never fail me. Regardless of any storms around me, help me to just have complete trust in You, knowing there is always peace within when I’m walking with Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.”
