Then Christ Came

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”

John 12:46

When we find ourselves tangled in the shadows of life—whether it’s through heartache, loss, or the weight of our own mistakes—there’s an ache for something more, something radiant to pierce the darkness. But Christ’s presence is transformative when He steps into our stories.

John 12:46 speaks directly into this truth. Jesus didn’t come to merely observe our struggles; He came as light—a beacon that shatters the power of darkness. His light isn’t just a distant glow but a personal, penetrating illumination that reaches the deepest parts of our hearts. The turning point in every believer’s life is that sacred moment when we encounter Jesus. It’s not about us finding our way out of the dark; it’s about Him coming to us, meeting us exactly where we are.

Consider the times when you felt overwhelmed by circumstances beyond your control. Then Christ came—through a friend’s encouragement, a song on the radio, a scripture that spoke directly to your heart. That’s His light breaking through.

Jesus, thank You for coming into my life as the light that dispels all darkness. Help me to remember that I don’t have to navigate life’s shadows alone because You are always with me. Shine brightly in my heart, revealing hope where there’s despair, clarity where there’s confusion, and peace where there’s fear. In you precious name I pray, AMEN.
